Readers of the novel will be left ready to read the next installment, and will likely wish to hunt for other works by Whyte. The reader will find authentic description, believable characters (based on historical figures) and a story line bereft of the biased view of Templars (whether good or bad) that so many other authors associate with the organization. The book offers the reader a look into the (fictional -but historically plausible) beginnings of the Knights Templar, and in doing so, establishes a new saga for fans of Templar lore, historical fiction, or European and middle east history. Whyte, the author of the popular Camulod Chronicles, delivers much the same excitement, anticipation and compelling story telling in his Templar Trilogy, of which Knights of the Black and White is the first installment.
